Mountain Moon Sangha
A Brisbane Zen Community
The Mountain Moon Sangha is a group of Zen practitioners practicing at their zendo in Cannon Hill, Brisbane.
There are three authorised Zen teachers active within the Sangha - Liyea Bretz, Garry Cam and Jean Wilson.
These teachers were appointed by Sei-un An, Roselyn Roshi (founder of the Mountain Moon Sangha) in the Sanbo Kyodan lineage of Kamakura, Japan.
Through this website, you can learn more about the teachers, the practice itself and the Zen events being held each year in and around Brisbane.
To walk the path of Zen practice is to study the self;
To study the self is to forget the self;
To forget the self is to let body-mind fall away;
To let body-mind fall away
is to be enlightened by all things;
To be enlightened by all things is to realise that all things -
which means yourself too - are perfect as they are
endowed with wisdom and virtue,
And therein lies the peace that passes all understanding.
- Dogen Zenji
